The Lithographic HIPS CardStyle card is printed on sheets of high-impact poly-styrene - up to 36 at a time and then die-cut to your specified size.  Poly-Styrene is simply plastic.  The only major difference between PVC and HIPS is that the HIPS CardStyle has a melting temperature that is about 20 degrees lower at 170 degrees Celsius.

The finished HIPS CardStyle card is printed in high resolution with extreme precision, robust color, fine detail and creates a glossy surface of the card is capable of being customized by printing information on the card by dye sublimation method at point of distribution or embossed after the card is produced.  Both sides of the card are in a glossy finish.  We can print up to 4 colors per side of the card and offer a UV coated glossy overlay, matte finish or a combination of glossy/matte.  On the standard matte finish, card signing or personalization is as easy as using a simple ball point pen.

The HIPS CardStyle produces a card that is extremely durable and is well suited for retail operations or situations where there is no additional printing customization at point of distribution.  Most major retailers including Target, Sears and Wal-Mart use the HIPS CardStyle method of printing their cards with pre-encoded magnetic stripes and inkjet imprinted data and barcodes already on the card. 

HIPS CardStyle printing also offers some additional options for card printing because we are able to score the cards printed on an integrated card carrier for ease of distribution and point of sale display.
